My name is Bobby Harpur and have been gigging for the last 10 years (performing for 30 years!). I come from a musical family, my Dad was a member of the band The Memories, my brother the lead singer with The Harley’s and another brother in Los Angeles writing, producing and directing film. I have performed with the Camembert Quartet, with Route 66 Big Band at the Rose of Tralee, Farmleigh and many of the Theatres around the country. I have also toured Ireland with Dancehall Queues and Hucklebuck Shoes Tribute show to the Showbands in the early 00’s.
As well as all over Ireland I have performed in the UK, USA (IVACON Los Angeles and Las Vegas) and Europe (The World Television Awards, 2014). I run my own Vocal School, The Vocal Academy in Leixlip where I teach Vocal Technique and am certified with The Institute for Vocal Advancement.
I pride myself in never performing the same set list night after night. I am constantly learning new (and old!) songs to add to my set and like to read the room as the night progresses. My set covers a very broad mix of contemporary music all the way back to the 60s although on any given night I can have a 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, dominant set in order to engage the crowd on the night. One thing I do not perform however is traditional Irish music or ballads, unless they’re 80s power ballads!!! I am available for solo gigs and also as a two piece male/female combo with Sabrina O’Reilly called Voci.
